(March 1, 2016 Shanghai): Organizers for the 6th Annual Invest in America
Summit today announced that Ambassador Gary Locke, the former U.S. Ambassador
to China, will provide the keynote address at this year’s Summit, opening on
March 12 in Shanghai.
The Invest in America Summit and Exhibition is the largest annual American investment conference and trade show in China and focuses on an array of premium business opportunities and investment programs in the United States. The event focuses on bringing together private investors from China to meet a diverse range of U.S. entrepreneurs, venture capital and private equity firms, attorneys, real estate developers and migration agents. The event also includes a large trade show area featuring approximately 50 exhibition booths and dozens of Summit panels led by industry experts.
Linda Mei He, one of the organizers of the Summit and Chairwoman of Wailian Overseas Consulting Group, Limited noted that “Over the course of his career, Ambassador Locke has remained steadfast in his commitment to strengthening ongoing political, economic and cultural ties between the U.S. and China. His innate understanding of our diverse cultures has been an invaluable asset in helping craft policies that support the blossoming relationship between our two countries”.
Before being appointed as U.S. Ambassador to China in 2011, Ambassador Locke served as the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, co-chairing two sessions of the U.S.-China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade. Previously, Ambassador Locke served two terms as Governor of Washington State, where he successfully strengthened economic ties between China and Washington State. Ambassador Locke is also the first Chinese-American to serve as Ambassador to China, as U.S. Secretary of Commerce and as Governor.
Given the expanded focus of this year’s Summit, organizers expect to shatter previous years’ attendance record. During its first 5 years, the Annual Invest in America Summit saw the participation of over 25,000 private investors and 600 migration agents.
