"With the fate of the H-1B visa programme, which has long
been used by the Indian IT industry for skilled workforce transfer to the US,
still hanging in the balance, the EB-5 visa has emerged as an alternative. The
visa involves a high initial investment of USD 500,000 but guarantees
relocation to the US, and has been untouched by the US Congress for over two
decades now. In an interview with Moneycontrol, Westport, Connecticut-based private
