US Senate Hearing today: The Failures and Future of the EB-5 Regional Center Program: Can it be Fixed?



The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing today hosted by Chairman Grassley to discuss “The Failures and Future of the EB-5 Regional Center Program: Can it be Fixed?” Senator Grassley, Feinstein, Cornyn, Schumer, Flake, Blumenthal, Tillis, Sessions, Perdue, Klobuchar and Leahy asked questions to Mr. Nicholas Colucci, Chief of USCIS Immigrant Investor Program and Mr. Stephen L. Cohen, Associate Director, Division of Enforcement for SEC. The main issues brought up by Senators were fraud, source of funds, passive vs. active investments, gerrymandering, SEC compliance, job creation requirements, oversight of EB-5 projects and USCIS regulations.
