As of April 22, 2015, The National Visa Center with the US Consulate in Guangzhou
has begun to issue announcements of cancellation to EB-5 investors
with scheduled visa interviews. This comes as a direct impact of the EB-5
retrogression which starting May 01, 2015, will have a priority date of May 01,
2013. Investors who have filed their I-526 petitions after the priority date and
been approved, will have to wait until their specific priority date is current
before they will have their scheduled visa interviews in Guangzhou. Individuals
should check with their attorneys or legal representatives for more information
on recently scheduled visa interviews, as it may have been cancelled without
quick notice. It is important investors check the monthly visa bulletin to find
out whether their priority date is current.
