Invest in America 2012 (Shanghai) Summit Announces VIP Speaker from the State of Maine

Mr. Wade Merritt is the Vice President of the Maine International Trade
Center
. In this capacity, he is responsible for supervising the staff and
day-to-day operations of the Center, including trade missions, technical
assistance, and programming. A graduate of the University of Maine, Mr.
Merritt also currently serves as Vice President of SIDO, the national association of American state trade offices, and serves several other international trade advisory boards.  Mr. Merritt has spoken at national
events on NAFTA, trade with Canada, and the state-federal relationship in setting national trade policy.  Most recently he has launched StudyMaine, a cooperative marketing project between fifteen educational institutions dedicated to attracting more international students to Maine.

StudyMaine:

StudyMaine is a MITC initiative to jointly market the state's secondary and higher education institutions through the coordination of overseas events and educational seminars and direct marketing assistance to institutions statewide, from high schools to colleges and universities. Currently, 15 schools are members of the consortium. Key to the program is StudyMaine.net, an interactive web portal directory of Maine schools and the many programs they offer, as well as combined overseas trade missions.
